I have taken numerous courses on the physiology of newborns, how to keep them from overheating, how to position their heads and arms to prevent asphyxiations, and keep them safe at all times.
I take my job very seriously, and that includes doing all I can to protect the littlest of my clients.
Do you practice newborn safety?
Newborn sessions typically take place within the first 7-14 weeks after birth when baby is still nice and sleepy. I have families contact me once baby has arrived and at that point we schedule a session time that works for you.
Of course, should you need your session to take place after baby is 2 weeks old, we can make that work too.
WHEN DO NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
You can look through my outfits and props for other sessions while you're at your newborn session. We can talk through what another session could look like. I love working with returning clients. Your best option would be to look at our membership option!
What if I decide I want another session after this?
If I have an opening in my calendar I am happy to accommodate. Most often, however, I am booked out months in advance. I absolutely love taking photos of newborns and will do everything I can to fit you in!
My baby is already born, am I too late to schedule a Newborn Session?
Absolutely!! The studio is filled with an ever evolving stock of backdrops, blankets, wraps, buckets, headbands/bows, hats, outfits, etc to be used during your session. Everything offered in my studio has been proved to photograph beautifully... most of the options are handmade by talented designers who put time and effort into ensuring the item is perfect for your baby's session.
I also have a closet full of beautiful outfit options for mom and young siblings as well. Also make sure to look at my styling guide for other ideas.
Do you supply the props and outfits for my baby's session?
We can absolutely include yourself, your partner, and other children in your session. Please let me know who you wish you include when I get in touch to arrange your session, as it does require additional planning.
At a newborn session, you’ll want to plan on someone driving young children separately, or coming back to pick up mom and baby, due to the length of a newborn session.
